Jumping on the TikTok trend of using samples from breakthrough artists and rising rappers, DVBBS releases collaborative project titled “Sh Sh Sh (Hit That)” which features urfavxboyfriend, Goldsoul, and Wiz Khalifa. This follows up DVBBS’s previous single titled “After Hours”, Wiz Khalifa’s feature on Yung Terp’s single “I Got” which also featured Twenty9xx, and urfavxboyfriend and Goldsoul’s collaborative EP project which is titled “Shhvff”.

As for Wiz Khalifa, real name Cameron Jibril Thomaz, he is a Pittsburgh rapper who has become a prominent figure in mainstream hip-hop with his unique blend of pop hooks, charming persona, and stoner rap style. He rose to fame in the 2010s with a series of hit tracks that showcased his smooth rhymes and slick production, and soon became a global success with the release of “See You Again” featuring Charlie Puth, which was used for the 2015 film Furious 7, becoming his most-streamed song on Spotify at 1.52 billion streams. In 2018, he released “Rolling Papers 2”, which included the singles “Hopeless Romantic” featuring Swae Lee and “Real Rich” with Gucci Mane. The following year, he collaborated with Trippie Red and Preme on the track “Alright” and with Curren$y for the mixtape “2009” and “Fly Times, Vol. 1: The Good Fly Young”. In 2020, he released the seven-song EP “The Saga of Wiz Khalifa”, which showcased his polished pop production and featured big names like Logic, Quavo, Tyga, Megan Thee Stallion, and more. Over the next few years, he focused on collaborations and mixtape releases like “Stoner’s Night” with Juicy J and “Full Court Press” with Smoke DZA, Girl Talk, and Big K.R.I.T. In July 2022, Wiz Khalifa released his seventh studio album “Multiverse”, which showed a more mature side of the rapper and addressed themes of self-acceptance, fatherhood, and emotional growth. Despite his evolution as an artist, Wiz Khalifa’s charisma, unique persona, and signature wit remain as strong as ever, from his major-label debut “Rolling Papers” to “Multiverse.”

TikTok rappers urfavxboyfriend and Goldsoul are making waves on the social media platform and making their name known for themselves. We’re in an era where TikTok stars’ samples are becoming mainstream successes and we expect this one to follow especially with the collaborative effort behind the track with DVBBS impressing on the production side of things, with Wiz Khalida providing epic rap verses, and urfavxboyfriend and Goldsoul infect the hook and melody of the track in your head.

Written by Alexandre van den Hoef, Cameron Jibril Thomaz, Christopher van den Hoef, Felix Garza, and Jacob Garza, while it was produced by DVBBS, themselves, “Sh Sh Sh (Hit That)” mixes defined hip-hop with EDM warping a unique sound that only DVBBS could possibly pull off. The track uses a sample from urfavxboyfriend which DVBSS accidentally stumbled across on TikTok, loving the line and deciding that it deserves to be made into a full-length track. They managed to get Wiz Khalifa to flesh out the track with rap verses that showcase his effortless flow and his incredible professionalism. It’s no wonder that Wiz Khalida is a global superstar as his lyricism is phenomenal and he captures the listener from start to finish. Goldsoul adds his engaging rap verse that adds depth to “Sh Sh Sh (Hit That)”. The track wraps urfavxboyfriend’s addicting hook throughout the track, overlaying it with the unstoppable bass to create a unique rhythm that is set to hit it big.

Produced, directed, and edited by Yofray Ray, the music video sees DVBBS talking to their manager who introduces them to Goldsoul and urfavxboyfriend, lining up a gig after hearing the iconic “Sh Sh Sh” line. Then the music video splits into a performance visual and a narrative, as we watch all three artists perform at a club together,, with Wiz Khalifa dropping intercut scenes during his epic flow verses. The narrative follows a guy who just isn’t having the best day, and decides to attend the gig, only when he finally gets there the door is shut and it states that it’s sold out – continuing his bad luck. It’s an interesting story-telling concept that allows all four artists to fully shine and showcases urfavxboyfriend and Goldsoul as rising rappers that are surely going to make huge names of themselves in the rap and hip-hop industry.
